Prominent Pakistani celebrities have voiced strong criticism following India’s recent strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor. The military operation, launched in response to the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, has sparked heated reactions from across the border, with actors condemning the move as "cowardly."

Mahira Khan, one of Pakistan’s most well-known actors, reposted a tweet by writer Fatima Bhutto criticising the strikes and wrote on her Instagram story, “Seriously cowardly!!! May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.”

Actor Hania Aamir also responded with a one-word Instagram story, calling the action “Cowardly.” Aamir has recently made headlines after her account, along with those of other Pakistani celebrities such as Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Ali Zafar, was geo-restricted in India.

Their Instagram profiles now display the message: “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”

On the other hand, the Indian government has confirmed the late-night strikes, describing them as “measured, precise and non-escalatory,” with a specific focus on dismantling terror infrastructure.

About Operation Sindoor

The Indian Army’s official handle posted, “Justice is served. Jai Hind,” confirming the success of the operation. Indian politicians, including Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also lauded the armed forces for avenging the Pahalgam attack. Several film personalities also hailed the Indian Army.

Sources indicate that Operation Sindoor led to the deaths of at least 17 terrorists and left around 60 others injured. The precision strikes reportedly hit key terror hubs in Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad. The army highlighted that the strikes were carefully executed to avoid escalation and did not target any Pakistani military installations.
