Masaba Gupta Reacts To Inheriting ‘Hundreds Of Crores’ From Her Father Vivan Richards
Masaba Gupta dispels the assumption that she will get a large inheritance from her father Vivan Richards.
New Delhi: Designer Masaba Gupta is a household name in India's fashion and entertainment industries. She has recently spoken about her life as the daughter of Neena Gupta and Vivian Richards, two well-known people in their own field. She has said that despite growing up with famous parents, she never felt the need to hide from the spotlight. However, she did note that it was widely believed that she had gained a sizable wealth from her father Vivan Richards.
While she was growing up, Masaba kept in close contact with her father despite the fact that her parents never married and he continued to live abroad. Masaba was under the impression that since her father was so well-known, she would get a large sum of money from her father as an inheritance.
Masaba recently discussed the widespread belief that her cricketer father Vivian Richards will "left her hundreds of crores." Masaba Gupta told Twinkle Khanna in an interview on Tweak India YouTube channel, “I was very grateful that I had what I had. Everyone tells me, ‘Oh you’ve become successful because of your mum and your dad’. Someone apparently told a friend once that, ‘What does she have to do. Her dad left her hundreds of crores’. I said no, there’s no hundreds of crores. They are being built, but I am building that myself.”
Masaba said that her father, Vivian, always encouraged her to pursue a career in tennis. He even purchased trendy new outfits for her to wear on the tennis court. She shared, "I think it was his dream to have me become a tennis star. And I was playing, I think I was number three in Maharashtra. That much I did with my anger issues. I did that much but no more than that."
Vivian attended Masaba and Satyadeep Mishra’s wedding earlier this year.
