In an interview, Kalki reflected on the time it took for her to heal after the divorce and become friends with Anurag Kashyap. She said they need space apart due to the emotional toll of learning about one another's relationships.
Kalki elaborated, “It takes time. There is no denying that in the first few years after our divorce, we couldn't be the kind of friends that we are today. We needed that separate time because it hurts to know about the other person's relationship and things like that.”
The actress also said that it had been seven or eight years since she had been taking therapy. “So, of course, we took that time, I definitely took a lot of therapy and now it's been seven-eight years... It's been a long, long time so it's fine, it's great and we get along, as friends,” she added.
While filming the 2009 movie ‘Dev D’, actor Kalki Koechlin and director Anurag Kashyap met and fell in love. After getting married in 2011, Anurag and Kalki filed for divorce in 2015.
