Kapil Sharma Opens Up About Life As A Dad, Says Daughter Anayra Has Has Done What 'No School Could'

New Delhi: The popular comedian and host of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, Kapil Sharma, recently spoke up on his bond with his daughter, Anayra, who was born in 2019. In a candid conversation with ETimes, Kapil discussed the surprising ways in which being a father has changed him.

According to Kapil Sharma, his daughter has not only provided him with immense happiness but has also helped him become a better English speaker. He shared, “Anayra has done what no school could – improve my English. What the universities and colleges couldn’t do, Anayra has managed to do!” 

Kapil mentioned that Anayra is a huge Ed Sheeran fan. He recalled how eager Anayra was to meet the singer behind the scenes and how she enthusiastically performed ‘Shape Of You’ when Ed Sheeran appeared on his program ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ season 1.

Kapil also shared that has a special problem at home, despite his comic talent: he cannot make his daughter laugh. He said, "When she was a child, it was only Ginni who would make her laugh. And I would wonder, I’m making the whole world laugh, yet my own daughter is not laughing at me. But she is the one who makes me laugh the most. She is very funny."

Kapil Sharma On Fatherhood

Reflecting on the unique tie between a father and daughter, Kapil said, “Once you become a father to a daughter, you realise that the love between the two is unparalleled; it is a natural connection. She is the most precious thing to me. She is my biggest blessing. Woh ghar ki raunak hai. Hamare ghar mein betion ko hamesha zyaada pyaar mila hai. (She is the light of our home. In our family, daughters have always received more love) Now I know why.”

On the work front, Kapil's ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show 2’ debuted on September 21 and promised viewers more comedy and excitement.
