Kangana Ranaut recently received appreciation for her film 'Emergency' which was released on Netflix recently. Interestingly, the appreciation did not come from Bollywood or anyone in the industry but from an MP from the Opposition. While 'Emergency' did not do well at the box office, the film has been receiving appreciation after its release on Netflix.

Kangana Ranaut, who is also a BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, shared a heartfelt handwritten note she 'quietly' received from the 'other side', referring to the opposition.

Kangana shared the note on her official Instagram handle. It read, "Hey, saw Emergency yesterday you are tooooo good! Love [sic]." Without sharing the name of the politician, Ranaut posted her gratitude on Instagram, "A little note of appreciation from the other side quietly came to me…. and made me smile warmly #emergency #parliamentday [sic]."

While the note is signed, it is not easy to guess who the Parliamentarian is.

About Emergency

Kangana Ranaut directed, acted and co-produced 'Emergency'. The film stars her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi alongside Anupam Ker, Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Vishak Nair.

Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films,'Emergency' courted controversy over its censor certificate and faced protests all over Punjab over its release. After several delays, the film was released on January 17, 2025. The film portrays the 21 months of Emergency imposed in 1972 by the then PM Indira Gandhi.

As the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and several other Sikh organisations called for a ban of the film, Kangana called out the behaviour as 'complete harassment of art and the artist".
