Jacqueline Fernandez has opted out of her scheduled performance at the IPL ceremony after her mother, Kim, was hospitalised in Mumbai. The actor was set to take the stage on Wednesday, but she decided to stay by her mother’s side during this critical time.

The Kick actress was spotted outside a Mumbai hospital on Monday as she rushed to be with her mother, who is currently in the ICU. A source shared, “Jacqueline’s mother is still in the ICU recovering, and the family is awaiting further updates from the doctors. Given the situation, Jacqueline has prioritized being with her mother and will not be performing at the IPL ceremony.”

Jacqueline was originally slated to perform ahead of the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati. However, after her mother suffered a heart stroke, she immediately returned to Mumbai. The actress has since been seen frequently traveling between her Bandra residence and the hospital. Salman Khan, a close friend and co-star, also visited the hospital to show his support.

On the work front
On the professional front, Jacqueline was last seen in 'Fateh' (2024), directed by Sonu Sood. While the film received a mixed response, she also featured in the music video Yimmy Yimmy by Shreya Ghoshal and Tayc. Currently, she is busy shooting for 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Housefull 5'.
Speaking about her upcoming projects, Jacqueline recently told Hindustan Times, “I also have a web show that I shot last year, which is set to release this year. I’m really excited about it because it’s my first show, and it revolves around dance and music. It’s going to bring something fresh to the audience this year.”
