The controversy erupted when a clip from India's Got Latent featuring Allahbadia making an offensive remark went viral on social media. During the episode, the podcaster posed an inappropriate question to a contestant, asking, "Would you rather watch your parents having sex all your life or join in once and stop it forever?" The comment quickly drew widespread criticism, with netizens calling out its distasteful nature.
Ranveer Allahbadia's apology
In response to the criticism, Allahbadia released a video statement on social media, acknowledging his mistake and expressing regret. "My comment wasn't just inappropriate; it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry," he admitted.
The influencer also refrained from offering any justification for his actions, stating, "I don’t want to provide context or reasoning. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part." His apology came hours after the online backlash gained momentum.
