New Delhi: Actress Esha Deol recently revealed her decision to part ways with her husband Bharat Takhtani. Now, sources close to the family disclosed that the decision to separate had been brewing for a while, with Esha and Bharat opting to wait for the right moment to share the news publicly. Nevertheless, the most recent report has it that Hema Malini is on board with her daughter's decision.
While the veteran actress has chosen not to comment on Esha's divorce, she remains a pillar of support for her daughter, as she has always been.
According to a report in Zoom, an insider shared, “She is certainly not commenting on her daughter’s decision to divorce her husband. It is Esha’s life and Hemaji will not meddle. She never has. She is with her daughter now, as she has always been. But Hemaji is not accountable for her daughter’s actions.”
The insider added, “It was brewing for a while. Esha and her husband had decided to part ways for some time now. They were just waiting for the right time to announce their separation. Now that it is out of the way, Esha is trying to move on with her life.”
Rumours of the couple's separation had been circulating for some time, particularly after Bharat's absence from family gatherings, including Hema Malini's birthday celebration last year and Esha's birthday bash.
Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani’s Marriage
Esha and Bharat met when they were teens, but they didn't start dating until they were both in their twenties. In February 2012, Bharat romantically proposed to Esha Deol, getting down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. The couple's wedding date was set for June 29, 2012. Their wedding took place at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai, where they exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
The couple have two beautiful daughters. After more than a decade of marriage, the couple decided to end it amicably in 2024.
