Diljit Dosanjh Gives A Nod To Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 After Maharashtra Govt’s Advisory On Mumbai Concert

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh spoke about the restrictions outlined in the advisory, which prohibited him from performing songs that promote drugs, violence, and alcohol.

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh responded to the Maharashtra Government's advisory during his Mumbai concert on Thursday night, which was issued ahead of his Dil-Luminati tour performance. While addressing the audience, Diljit spoke about the restrictions outlined in the advisory, which prohibited him from performing songs that promote drugs, violence, and alcohol. Additionally, it banned the use of children on stage during his performance.

Diljit Dosanjh reacts to Maharashtra Government's advisory

He said: "Maine kal poocha apne team se kuch advisory toh nahi hai mere khilaaf. Bola sab thik hai. Aaj subah utha toh pata chala advisory jaari ho chuki hai mere khilaaf. Par aap fikar na kare, saare advisory mere par hai, aap jitna maza karne aayae mai uska double karwaunga (Last evening I asked my team if there has been any advisory issued against me. They said there is none. But this morning when I woke up I got to know that an advisory had been issued. But you have nothing to worry about. All advisories are for me and I will ensure you have double the fun than what you imagined)."

Diljit said that during the event of Sagar Manthan, the amrit (holy nectar) was consumed by the Devtas, while Lord Shiva took the poison. However, instead of consuming the poison, Shiva kept it in his throat.

The singer mentioned, “What I have learnt from this is no matter how much poison people want to throw at you, you should not take that inside. People will try to stop you, but you should never let that affect you or your work." 

Diljit also paid tribute to Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 by recreating his iconic move and saying, “Aaj jhukega nahi…” adding a playful touch to his performance.

Dil-Luminati Tour 2024

Before the show, Mumbai’s District Child Protection Officer issued a notice to Diljit, warning him against promoting alcohol and drug use during his performance. Additionally, the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights sent a notice advising him not to bring children on stage during the event.

During his India tour, Diljit performed in several cities, including Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Indore, and Jaipur. The tour will conclude with his performance in Guwahati.
