Dalljiet Kaur Claims Estranged Husband Nikhil Patel Is Engaged Again, Shares Pic Of Engagement Ring
Actor Dalljiet Kaur has expressed her shock at seeing estranged husband Nikhil Patel wearing a gold ring on his wedding finger, hinting at a new engagement.
Actor Dalljiet Kaur and her NRI husband, Nikhil Patel, are in the midst of a bitter and public divorce battle. The couple, who tied the knot in March 2023, have since found themselves embroiled in controversy, with Kaur accusing Patel of infidelity. The Kenya-based businessman has denied the allegations, countering with accusations of his own. Amid this turmoil, Kaur took to Instagram to express her shock at seeing Patel wearing a gold ring on his wedding finger, hinting at a new engagement.
What Dalljiet posted on Instagram about Nikhil
Sharing a screenshot of Nikhil's Instagram Stories, Kaur didn't hold back. She called him out for "wearing a ring again," suggesting that he was already engaged, despite their ongoing legal proceedings. In a series of posts, she also directed harsh words at Patel’s new partner, Safeena.
In one of her Instagram Stories, Kaur wrote, "Congrats SN, must applaud the audacity to splash it again on social media. Well done both of you. Already wearing a ring again Nikhil. Well done."
She went further in criticising Nikhil's new relationship, questioning the legitimacy of flaunting it while he was still legally married to her in India. Kaur expressed her frustration, writing, " “Looks like you (Nikhil) were missing being talked about haan? You were missing being written about? Nikhil, your would-be wife seems to be in the same boat of wanting attention? She does know you technically still have a wife in Mumbai, whether or not you accept it. Indian justice will tell you your marital status soon.”
‘Shame on You’ Kaur didn't stop there, as she took another dig at the couple, accusing them of having "sick mentality." She remarked, "Same personalities and character. Interesting. Sick mentality though both of you! Well done you are almost successful in destroying her family too. Though I do wonder what her family looks like for you to be wearing a promise ring already. My God, shame on you."
Kaur also addressed the possibility that Nikhil might downplay the significance of the ring, dismissing the idea that it was just a family heirloom. She questioned, "Knowing you, you will say it was there as a jewellery and you just chose to wear it or it was there with your daughter or someone from your family, just wore it like a jewel. But why wear it on the wedding finger? And then make sure it is seen on your Instagram Stories? You are anything but NAIVE..."
About Dalljiet and Nikhil’s divorce battle
Speculation about trouble in Dalljiet and Nikhil’s marriage began in February 2024, when the couple unfollowed each other and removed pictures from their Instagram profiles. By May 2024, Nikhil addressed the rumours in an interview with ETimes, acknowledging their split and responding to the infidelity allegations. Since then, the two have continued to publicly criticise each other, with Dalljiet confirming in August 2024 that she had filed an FIR against Nikhil in Mumbai.
Dalljiet has a son, Jaydon, from her first marriage to actor Shaleen Bhanot.
