Akshay Kumar Holds His Payment For ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’; Jackky Bhagnani Says He Is Grateful For Actor's Understanding

Pooja Entertainment producer Jackky Bhagnani has issued a statement on the alleged non-payment of dues to his crew. He also thanked Akshay Kumar for holding his payment.

New Delhi: Actor Akshay Kumar has stepped in to help settle a debt issue at Pooja Entertainment. This comes after President BN Tiwari of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) claimed that the production business owed three of its film crews more than Rs 65 lakh. 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', 'Ganapath', and 'Mission Raniganj' are among these flicks.

The statement from producer Jackky Bhagnani revealed Akshay Kumar's sympathetic gesture. "Akshay sir met me recently to discuss this matter. Upon learning about this situation, Akshay sir didn't hesitate to step forward and show his support for the crew. He has insisted that his payments be placed on hold until every single cast and crew member working on our projects receive their full and final payment," Bhagnani said.

He expressed his gratitude saying, "We are incredibly grateful for Akshay sir’s understanding and his willingness to stand with us during this time. The movie business hinges on strong relationships and that is the spirit we strive to foster at Pooja Entertainment."

FWICE President's Claims on Unpaid Dues by Pooja Entertainment

BN Tiwari, president of FWICE, has accused Pooja Entertainment of major wrongdoing, saying that the production business owes a lot of money to those involved in its films. Tiwari reports that director Tinu Desai owe Rs 33.13 lakh by Pooja Entertainment, headed by producer Vashu Bhagnani, for the 2023 film 'Mission Raniganj,' which starred Akshay Kumar. He went on to say that the production owe 250 set workers a total of Rs 31.78 lakh in unpaid wages.

Producing hits like 'Coolie No 1', 'Hero No 1', 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' (1998), 'Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai', and 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein', Pooja Entertainment has lately had problems at the box office with a few of its recent films.
