'Brahmastra Part 2: Dev' Announced At The End Of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Film. Deepika, Ranveer in Sequel?

Amitabh Bachchan's character says, there are some forces rising like the reincarnation of ‘Dev’, Ranbir Kapoor’s character Shiva’s father. The second part to be called Brahmastra Part 2: Dev

New Delhi: ‘Brahamstra’ starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Shah Rukh Khan released in theatres today. As critics and audiences rate the film while another section boycotts the film, what has almost missed the attention in the conversation is the announcement of the sequel called 'Brahmastra Part 2: Dev'.

As ‘Brahmastra’ ended, the makers announced that the story of the film will be continued in the second part called ‘Dev’. Amitabh Bachchan gave a voiceover suggesting that although all is well now, there are some forces rising like the reincarnation of ‘Dev’, Ranbir Kapoor’s character Shiva’s father in the film. In fact the muscular man who has shown as Dev has long hair. His face is almost never revealed.

Earlier, even before the film had hit screens, the talk of the sequel and their cast was on the charts. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, "No doubt, it will be a casting coup if Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh are in one film! However, it will be important to maintain that each has integral parts. As for their roles, Alia and Ranbir will be seen as their respective characters from Part 1, and will have stories that run parallel to each other."

A source close to the publication had also added, “filmmaker Ayan Mukherji is making a big-ticket franchise that will be interlinked and actors will be seen playing cameos at the end of the film, just like we see in Marvel movies".

‘Brahamstra’ which was released today has been receiving mixed reviews from audiences and critics. While a section is all praises for the film, many have been vehemently demanding the boycott of the film. In fact, many have been saying that it is a perfect film to watch with family and kids.

According to our in-house review, “There is so much hard work put into 'Brahmastra'. Particularly the special effects, the mixing- indigenising and owing of genre conventions, and through Alia and Ranbir's performances for which 'Brahmastra' deserves its due respect and place in Indian cinematic history.”
