Ayushmann Khurrana's Anek New Poster Out | Release Date Shifted To Avoid Clash With Ranveer Singh's Jayeshbhai Jordaar

‘Anek’ also marks Ayushmann Khurrana's second collaboration with director Anubhav Sinha.

New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Anek’ now has a new release date. Written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, 'Anek' is an action-thriller set in the geopolitical climate of North-East India.

‘Anek’ also marks Ayushmann’s second collaboration with director Anubhav Sinha. The ‘Dream Girl’ actor had earlier worked with Sinha in ‘Article 15’; another critically acclaimed film.

Earlier, ‘Anek’ was slated to release on 13th May 2022. It has now been shifted to 27th May. Trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter handle to announce the news with the film’s new poster.

In the poster, Ayushmann Khurrana is seen armed with a gun looking straight ahead while two people lay dead in a smoke-screen. The poster also bears a tagline which read, “Jeetega Kaun? Hindustan?( Who wins?India)

“AYUSHMANN KHURRANA: 'ANEK' NEW RELEASE DATE... #Anek - starring #AyushmannKhurrana, which was initially slated for release on 13 May 2022 - will now arrive on 27 May 2022... Directed by #AnubhavSinha... Produced by #BhushanKumar, #KrishanKumar and #AnubhavSinha... NEW POSTER…,”his post read.

According to Bollywood Hungama, ‘Anek’ has been shot in difficult terrain of North-East India and is Sinha’s most expensive project till date. Anubhav Sinha is known for creating compelling socio-political dialogue through his cinema and his films are usually shot on budget.

‘Anek’s release date shift has also been made in order to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’.

"A lot of hardwork and planning goes into the making of a film and by that principle it deserves undivided attention. We were happy to shift the release of 'Anek' by a few days so that audiences can now enjoy both films in a spaced out manner,” Anubhav Sinha said in a statement.

‘Anek’ has been jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks. It is all set to release on 27th May 2022.
