'Amit Sir Told Me Tu Gaana Mat Likh, Tu Thought Likh...': Chaitnya Sharma A.K.A SlowCheeta On Working With Amit Trivedi
In a conversation with ABP Live, Chaitnya a.k.a SlowCheeta shares his experience working with Amit Trivedi, talks about his passion for music and so much more.
Chaitnya Sharma who goes by the moniker 'SlowCheeta' is an actor and rapper who recently collaborated with Amit Trivedi in a song- which happens to be his dream collaboration. Being a fan of Amit Trivedi, Chaitnya was in cloud nine when he got the offer. In a conversation with ABP Live, Chaitnya a.k.a SlowCheeta shares his experience working with Amit Trivedi, talks about his passion for music and so much more.
He said, "I am very very excited as it was a dream collaboration of sorts with Amit Trivedi who is one of the best. I have grown up listening to his music and he has been so so special. But, working with him has made me fall in love with him even more because he is such a good human being. Once I met him, I realised that his music is so special because he is such a special person. So, I can't be happier."
Talking about his experience of working with Amit Trivedi, Sharma said, "He had done the scanning of the song and I had to write the words. So, it was a different kind of experience. Because, what I usually do is that I listen to a beat and write my composition. But, this one was a composed track without any words. So, it was like putting a puzzle together which was very interesting."
"I wrote the song almost 5-6 times, but I was not getting the feel. Then Amit Sir told me that 'Tu gaana mat likh, tu thought likh.' Then I thought, as an artist, if I am getting such a big platform, then I would like to spread love. So, I made him the love philosopher and I became someone who has just entered in that school."
Chaitnya started writing poetry at a very young age after which he got introduced to rapping.
"I was 12-13 years old when I used to write poetry in my brown diary. Then someone introduced me to hip hop and rap and all... so that's how it started."
Talking about the people he would like to collab with in future, he said, "There are so many- like A.R Rahman... and I have a lot of respect for so many singers, so I think it will be unfair to sing aloud a few. But, in the current scenario, I am a big fan of some new age music that is coming out- like A.P Dhillon. I want to collaborate with everyone because you get to learn a lot from each one of them, see their working style, and gain a lot of experiences."
He also shared his other projects as a musician where he spoke about 'Carvaan' and 'Maidan'.
"I did a song in 'Carvaan' which was Irfaan Khan's last film. I have also written a song for my upcoming film 'Maidan' which is being produced by A.R Rahman. So, playback singing is something I am venturing in. So Jab jab mauka milta hai, hum toh haazir hain!"
Chaitnya happens to be Shweta Tripathi Sharma's husband and on being asked whether he wants to do a playback in her film, he said, "I want to do a movie where she is there because I am also an actor. Right now, I am more into rapping and music, so most people don't know about this- but I have been into theatre for the past 12 years. Professionally I have been acting longer than I have been rapping. So, the best thing will be to do a film with Shweta, in which I am an actor and also a playback singer, and the film gets produced by Shweta."
