Aindrila Sharma Death: Know All About The Young Bengali Actress Who Passed Away At The Age Of 24

Aindrila Sharma was a Bengali actress who made her television debut with the TV show 'Jhumur' in 2017. Born on February 5, Aindrila was the daughter of Uttam Sharma and Shikha Sharma.

New Delhi: Bengali actress Aindrila Sharma passed away on Sunday after suffering multiple cardiac arrests. She was 24 years old and was admitted to the hospital on November 1, after a stroke following which her condition kept on deteriorating. Though at times she did show signs of improvement but later, she suffered from repeated cardiac arrests.

What happened to Aindrila Sharma?

Aindrila Sharma was brought to the Emergency of Narayana Superspeciality Hospital on November 1, in the afternoon in a comatose condition, said the hospital statement as per a report by ABP Ananda. She was a known patient of Ewing's sarcoma and was treated with surgery and chemoradiation earlier.

She was immediately intubated and put on a ventilator. Her CT scan of the brain showed a massive haemorrhage inside the left half of the brain. Following this, she was immediately shifted to the operation theatre and their Neurosurgeon performed a critical surgery to remove the brain haemorrhage. The biopsy showed she was having brain metastases from Ewing's sarcoma.

Metastatic Ewing's sarcoma is an extremely fatal disease with a very poor prognosis. She was seen by a combined team of Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, Critical Care Specialists, Infectious disease specialists, Medical Oncologists, Radiologists and Radiation oncologists. 

According to the hospital statement, "Though still on a ventilator she was showing signs of recovery after surgery. 10 days after the surgery she developed a massive stroke on the left side of her brain. Later she developed a stroke on the right side of her brain also. The probable cause of these strokes seemed the underlying malignancy. Her consciousness level dropped and ventilator support had to be increased."

The statement further read, "Day in and day out our doctors tried their best to treat her. We also gladly accepted the family's request for consultation by doctors from other hospitals so as to leave no stone unturned in our effort to treat her. She remained critical and had episodes of cardiac arrests which were reverted by prompt intervention by our specialist doctors." 

Her family also supported the hospital and cooperated fully with the hospital and the treating doctors, read the statement, but, unfortunately, despite their best efforts she suffered a Cardiac arrest today and she succumbed to this dreaded disease. The hospital declared her dead today at 12:59 pm. 

Who was Aindrila Sharma?

Aindrila Sharma was a Bengali actress who made her television debut with the TV show 'Jhumur' in 2017. After that, she did a number of popular daily soaps including ‘Jiyon Kathi’, ‘Jibon Jyoti’ and others. Entering into the digital world, she was recently featured in the web series 'Bhagar', which also starred her beau Sabyasachi.

Apart from these, Aindrila recently featured in the Zee Bangla Cinema original film 'Bhole Baba Par Karega' and was seen in the role of Anirban Chakraborti's daughter. She was also a social media influencer and a model.

Born on February 5, Aindrila was the daughter of Uttam Sharma, who is a professional doctor and Shikha Sharma, a homemaker. She was in a relationship with writer and actor Sabyasachi Chowdhury since 2015.

She had battled cancer twice and had survived. The doctors had declared her cancer-free, and she made a comeback in the entertainment world. She was also a recipient of the Tele Academy Award for her contribution to the television industry and was also nominated for the Bengali Leadership Award in 2022.

As soon as the news of Aindrila's death became public, her fans were completely shattered. On her Instagram account, some of her followers posted their condolences in the comment section. "Rest in peace well fought," a user said. Another fan wrote, "RIP" with a sad emoticon.
