'Will Stop Distributing Money The Day...': BJP's Parvesh Verma On AAP's 'Cash To Voters' Claim

Parvesh Verma's comments come shortly after AAP leader Sanjay Singh visited the Enforcement Directorate office to file a complaint against the BJP leader accusing them of offering cash to voters.

Amid the ongoing controversy over Parvesh Verma 'distributing' cash, the BJP leader has responded to the allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party.

Parvesh Verma said that the money being distributed to poor women was all accounted and added that there is nothing illegal in distributing money to the poor before the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into place ahead of Delhi Assembly Elections.

When asked about the AAP's claim that why the CBI and ED not raiding Verma for distributing money, the BJP leader said, "I am using the money from my account, which is all accounted money. I am using the money from my account and my NGO's account. The Model Code of Conduct is not in place now. If I give the money to any woman, then no law prevents me from doing that."

"The day the Model Code of Conduct is in place, after that day I will stop distributing any money to any women and as soon as the elections are over, I will start giving the money again," Verma said.

The comments come shortly after Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh visited the Enforcement Directorate office in the capital to file a complaint against Parvesh Verma and Majinder Sirsa accusing them of offering cash to voters ahead of polls.

Parvesh Verma was found distributing Rs 1,100 among women of the New Delhi constituency, which led to a bitter political confrontation between the AAP and BJP.

While Kejriwal had lashed out at Verma in a dozen posts on X, calling him a "traitor", Chief Minister Atishi demanded his arrest.

Meanwhile, Parvesh Verman said that there is no law in the country that prevents him from helping women or the poor through the NGOs founded by his father.

Kejriwal, who has held the seat since 2013 and is the AAP's candidate from the constituency for the upcoming Assembly polls, also claimed that Verma is the BJP's chief ministerial face in the elections and asked Delhiites if they wanted such a CM.

Speaking on the recent 'infighting' between AAP and Congress, Parvesh Verma said that the parties have realised that there are no benefits in staying together.

"These parties are the ones that Arvind Kejriwal used to call them thieves. But then Arvind Kejriwal shook hands with those thieves and entered into an alliance," the BJP leader said.

He further said that when AAP is seeing its loss, the party is blaming Congress for not supporting it.

Speaking on Kejriwal's claim that Atishi will be soon arrested, the BJP leader said, "She might be arrested because she must have done some bad deeds. She must have done some corruption, which Kejriwal is aware of."

"We have even seen before that whosoever's name Arvind Kejriwal took, like he said Satyendar Jain will go to jail and then he was jailed. Then he said that Sanjay Singh will go to jail and then he went to jail. He then said that they are going to arrest me and then he was arrested. So, he knows who all have done corruption and who is going to jail under which case. So, Kejriwal can only say who is next to go to jail," he added.
