AAP's Sanjay Singh Files Complaint With ED Against BJP's Parvesh Verma, Says 'Not Assured Of Any Action'

The AAP has accused Parvesh Verma of distributing Rs 1,100 among women of the New Delhi constituency from where AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is contesting the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh on Thursday visited the Enforcement Directorate office in Delhi to file a complaint against BJP's Parvesh Verma and Majinder Sirsa accusing them of offering cash to voters ahead of the Assembly elections in the national capital in 2025.

The development came a day after the AAP alleged that Verma was distributing Rs 1,100 among women of the New Delhi constituency, from where AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is contesting the Delhi Assembly elections 2025. While Kejriwal had lashed out at Verma in a dozen posts on X, calling him a "traitor", Chief Minister Atishi demanded his arrest.

After filing the complaint, Sanjay Singh said that the ED office had only received the complaint without providing any assurance of action against the BJP. Reiterating the party's demand of action against the BJP over the alleged cash for votes, Singh called the matter a "clear case of money laundering".

"They have only received the complaint. No official assured us of any action...What the ED will do, I can't say about that...They have given the official receiving of the complaint," he said.

He further slammed the saffron party and hit out at the central agencies as well as he accused the BJP of distributing money to voters in Kejriwal's constituency. Singh also claimed that crores of rupees would be recovered from Parvesh Verma's house if the ED were to conduct a raid there.

"In the capital of the country, Delhi, where the ED, CBI, the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Election Commission are all stationed, bribery of ₹1,100 per voter is openly taking place in Arvind Kejriwal's assembly constituency. Crores of rupees could be recovered from former MP Parvesh Verma's house if the ED conducts raids there. This is illegal money. This cash is being openly distributed to buy votes," he said.

Singh asserted that the AAP would not stay back and continue to approach all cetral agencies for action against BJP. "We will also approach the IT department, CBI, and Election Commission to lodge a complaint about this," he added.

Parvesh Verma on the other hand slammed Kejriwal for calling him a "traitor" and reacted by saying that the people of Delhi will respond to this through elections. He hit back at the AAP for "believing in the politics of abuse".

At a press conference, Atishi had also alleged on Wednesday that Rs 1,100 each was being given to women from slum clusters at former Verma's Windsor Place residence and their voter ID details were being noted down.

Later the BJP MP had denied the allegations and said that the money was distributed as part of a scheme by 'Rashtriya Swabhiman'. "I am seeing the pain of women which Arvind Kejriwal could not see for 11 years. They were hassled... I decided that we would give them Rs 1,100 per month. At least I am not distributing liquor like Arvind Kejriwal. I am happy that I am helping people," Verma had said.
