Haveri (Karnataka): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a scathing against PM Narendra Modi asking why is he shying away from mentioning the BJP government which released JeM chief Masood Azhar in the year 1999 in exchange for the hijacked Indian Airlines flight IC-814. "Kuch din pehle Pulwama mein CRPF ke log shaheed hote hain. Mera PM se chota sa sawaal, 'Inn CRPF ke shaheedo ko kisne maara?JeM ke chief ka naam kya hai? Kya BJP ki sarkar ne Masood Azhar ko Hindustan ki jail se Pakistan nahi bheja tha."Gandhi questioned at a rally here. Since then, the Jaish has been instrumental in organising several terror attacks in the country. It claimed the attack on the Indian Parliament on December 13, 2001 in which nine security personnel and officials were killed. On January 2, 2016, a heavily armed group of JeM attacked the Pathankot airbase in which seven security personnel were killed. The JeM also carried out the attack on Uri brigade headquarters on September 18, 2016, in which 17 jawans lost their lives leaving 30 others injured. On February 14 this year, the JeM carried out a suicide attack on a CRPF bus in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 CRPF personnel. The Congress questioned the air strikes by India in Pakistan on February 26 in which the casualties are reported to be approximately 300. Further, Gandhi, who has been alleging that Narendra Modi was involved in corruption over the Rafale deal, said the prime minister talks about corruption but whole country knows he is corrupt. Earlier, Gandhi targeted the government over stealing of sensitive papers of Rafale deal and sought a criminal investigation.
