UP Election: Bullet Train Development Or 'Puncture Waali Cycle', Adityanath Taunts Samajwadi Party

In the fourth phase, 59 assembly constituencies across 9 districts will go to the polls on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday asked voters in the state to choose between "bullet train development" and "puncture waali cycle (punctured cycle)" ahead of the fourth phase of polling.

Adityanath was addressing a rally in Raebareli when he targeted the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party through the statement.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said: "You want bullet train development or 'puncture waali Cycle' in the state? Yogi in state and Modi at Centre will bring bullet train-like development here", news agency ANI reported.

In a loaded statement, Adityanath alleged that "Samajwadi Party and other parties are doing politics at the nation's cost. Congress, SP, BSP are toying with the security of the nation and society... earlier, there used to be no electricity on Holi/Diwali, but on Eid/Muharram".

He also targeted Rahul Gandhi saying that the former Congress president "opposes India's Kashmir policy in Parliament". "Should such people be supported in politics?" the Chief Minister questioned.

At a public meeting in Hardoi, Yogi Adityanath had upped the ante against SP saying: "I want to ask should we support the bicycle which is used to make innocent people victims of terror incidents. The bicycle should be punctured forever. They are 'Sawajwadi' by name, 'Parivarwadi' by the thought process, and 'Dangawadi' by profession".

Former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had also hit out at the ruling BJP while addressing a rally in Raebareli earlier in the day.

He said, "This government (BJP) isn't a government for the poor, but for the rich. We won't get a loan easily, will have to put our land and house for mortgage, but big industrialists ran away after looting banks... ask anyone on road, everyone will say SP is coming."

"Be alert, BJP can do anything as they are going to lose Uttar Pradesh Elections... bulldozer baba (Yogi Adityanath) said he distributed 1 crore smartphones and tablets, no one received them here (in Raebareli)," Akhilesh claimed, as quoted by ANI.

Election campaigning for the fourth phase of Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022 has ended today.

In the fourth phase, 59 assembly constituencies across 9 districts will go to the polls on Wednesday. Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur, Hardoi, Raebareli, Fatehpur, Banda. Pilibhit and Lakhimpur will cast their votes in this phase.
