UP Elections 2022: PM Modi In Bijnor Today For First Hybrid Rally, To Address 18 Constituencies

While the PM will be physically present only in Bijnor, he will cover nearly 18 assembly constituencies of the three above-mentioned districts.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding the first hybrid rally in Uttar Pradesh days ahead of assembly elections that are scheduled to begin from February 10. PM Modi will address the people of Bijnor, Moradabad, and Amroha in this ‘Jan Chaupal’ that will begin at 11:30 AM.

This is not only the first hybrid rally but also PM’s first visit to poll-bound UP after the announcement of election dates as all previous rallies were virtual rallies due to covid-19 related restrictions imposed by the Election Commission.

While the PM will be physically present only in Bijnor, he will cover nearly 18 assembly constituencies of the three above-mentioned districts.

The BJP workers have made arrangements for people to access the PM’s address in 75 different locations, hoping to make an impression on nearly one lakh people. Besides, the party workers will also be using social media and digital media to reach out to maximum people.

The party is expecting as many as one lakh people to attend the hybrid rally as the Election Commission has relaxed the restriction on rallies.

The EC on Sunday eased the restrictions on the election rallies in the five poll-bound states by allowing 50 percent capacity in indoor and 30 percent capacity in outdoor rallies.

“Restrictions regarding outdoor meeting/indoor meetings/rallies further relaxed subject to the condition that the number of persons attending the indoor/outdoor meetings/rallies will be limited to maximum of 50 percent of the capacity of indoor halls and 30 percent of the open ground capacity or as fixed by DEO as per requirement of the social distancing norms and whichever is less,” read the EC order.

This hybrid rally in Bijnor will be followed by a virtual rally for the voters of Dehradun and Haridwar in Uttarakhand at around 2:30 PM. This ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha’ will be held via video conferencing.
