UP Election Result 2022: Ahead Of Counting Of Votes, EVMs Trend On Twitter. Netizens Share Hilarious Memes

While the stage is set for counting of results for UP Elections 2022, EVMs trend on Twitter after the controversy in Varanasi.

UP Election 2022 Result LIVE: While the counting of the Election results 2022 will begin sharply at 8am, UP witnessed a fiasco over EVMs after the opposition Samajwadi Party alleged that  EVMs were moved illegally in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi just 48 hours before the counting of votes in state elections, his party tweeted the on-camera statement of an official conceding there were "lapses". 

After SP's allegation. EC responded that the EVMs were moved for "training purposes" 

 The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday also suspended Varanasi Additional District Magistrate NK Singh, according to ANI.

"ECI has taken action against any type of breach of protocol. ECI has suspended ADM Varanasi," Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Kumar said.

With UP set to know the results of assembly elections, Varanasi DM said that counting agents of various parties are arriving at the counting centres. Postal ballots will be opened at 8 am, followed by counting of votes recorded in EVMs. The counting process is expected to be complete by the evening. Sec 144 imposed in Varanasi Commissionerate area.

 Varanasi's Commissioner Deepak Agarwal spoke to the reporters last evening and said that there was a lapse in protocol in the movement of EVMs. However, he insisted that the vote machines in question were only for training purposes.
