The opposition combined managed to get just 46 seats. The Election Commission announced that the BJP has won 132 seats, the Shiv Sena won 57, while the NCP got 41 seats.
One of the interesting facts of the crucial elections was the close fight in some seats as the vote margin dropped to as low as 162 votes. These are the candidates who won by the thinnest vote margins in the state.
Mufti Mohammad Khalique: The AIMIM candidate defeated Asif Shaikh Rasheed of the ISLAM party in Malegaon Central by just 162 votes.
Nana Patole: Congress' Maharashtra unit chief Nana Patole won the Sakoli assembly constituency against BJP leader Avinash Ananrao Brahmankar with a margin of just 208 votes.
Manda Vijay Mhatre: The BJP candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party bagged the Belapur constituency with a margin of 377 votes. He defeated Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sandeep Ganesh Naik.
Gaikwad Sanjay Rambhau: Gaikwad, from the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, beat Thackeray faction's Jayshree Sunil Shelke with a margin of 841 votes, securing the Buldhana assembly seat.
Shirishkumar Surupsing Naik: Contesting from the Nawapur assembly constituency, Congress' Shirishkumar Surupsing Naik won the elections with a margin of 1,121 votes, defeating Independent candidate Sharad Krishnarao Gavit.
Rohit Pawar: The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) candidate won the Karjat Jamkhed assembly seat by 1,243 votes. hE He was trailing at first but then defeated BJP candidate Ram Shankar Shinde. Pawar won the seat in 2019 too.
Sajid Khan Pathan: Pathan, a Congress leader, won the Akola West constituency with a vote margin of 1,283. He bagged the seat by defeating BJP candidate Agrawal Vijay Kamalkishor.
Mahesh Baliram Sawant: Sena (UBT) candidate Mahesh Baliram Sawant secured the Mahim assembly seat after defeating the incumbent Shiv Sena MLA Sada Sarvankar with a margin of 1,316 votes. Sawant also beat MNS chief Raj Thackeray's son, Amit Thackeray in this constituency.
