Telangana Polls: Congress Releases Fourth List Of 5 Candidates

Katta Sreenivas Goud has been given ticket from the Patencheru assembly constituency in place of Nilam Madhu Mudiraj

The Indian National Congress Thursday released list of five candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections. The list feature five names - Katta Sreenivas Goud, Mohd Mujib Ullah Shareef, Bhathula Laxma Reddy, Ramareddy Damodar Reddy and Mandula Samuel.

Katta Sreenivas Goud has been given ticket from the Patencheru assembly constituency in place of Nilam Madhu Mudiraj. While Katta Sreenivas Goud will fight from Charminar, Bhathula Laxma Reddy from Mriyalaguda, Ramareddy Damodar Reddy from Suryapet and Mandula Samuel from Thungathurthi -SC.

 With the latest, the Congress has declared 118 candidates for elections to the 119 constituencies. It has left one seat for its alliance partner the CPI.

The Telangana assembly elections are scheduled to take place on November 30, with the vote counting set for December 3.

BJP'S Fourth List

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana. This takes the total number of candidates announced by BJP for the 119-member Telangana Legislative Assembly polls to 100.

For the remaining 19 seats, the party is expected to offer some seats to its NDA ally, actor-turned-politician, Pawan Kalyan-led Janasena, reported PTI

The candidates announced by the party includes: Durgam Ashok (Chennur-SC), V Subhash Reddy (Yellareddy constituency), Tula Uma (Vemulawada), Bomma Sriram Chakravarthy (Husnabad), Doodi Srikanth Reddy (Siddipet), Peddinti Naveen Kumar (Vikarabad-SC), Bantu Ramesh Kumar (Kodangal), Boya Shiva (Gadwal), Sadineni Srinivas (Miryalguda), Chalamala Krishna Reddy (Munugode), Nakarakanti Mogulaiah (Nakrekal-SC) and Azmeera Prahlad Naik (Mulug-ST).

Chalamala Krishna Reddy, a Congress leader who recently joined the BJP has been given a ticket to contest the polls from Munugode. The BJP had earlier nominated Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy from this seat for the bypoll that was held last year but the leader quit the party and switched sides with Congress.
