UCC, Panel For Probe On KCR Govt, Ending 'Religion-Based' Quota: BJP's Promises In Telangana Manifesto

Assembly election in Telangana will be held on November 30 and the counting of votes is set for December 3.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday released the BJP's manifesto for upcoming Telangana assembly polls during his visit to the state. Addressing the gathering, Shah stated: "Today, we are releasing the BJP manifesto for Telangana Assembly elections. The manifesto is about guarantees by PM Modi," news agency PTI reported.

"Prime Minister Modi has done a lot of work to help strengthen and empower the state of Telangana," he said.

Slamming BRS government, Shah said: "KCR always avoided celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day as he was scared of Asaduddin Owaisi. Under KCR's leadership, Telangana democracy turned into loottantra and prajatantra has turned into parivartantra."

"The Congress Party, during 2004-14, released only Rs 2 lakh crore as devolution and grant-in-aid for 'Sanyukt Andhra Pradesh', whereas the BJP government under PM Modi's leadership released Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand crore in just 9 years for this state," he further stated.

BJP's Manifesto: Key Poll Promises

  • The 27th of August will be designated as Razakaros Martyrs' Day.
  • Corruption will be dealt with harshly.
  • To combat inflation, the VAT on fuel and diesel will be decreased within seven days of the formation of the administration.
  • The present Dharani, an integrated land management platform introduced by the BRS government, would be replaced with a flawless "mee Bhoomi" system, according to the manifesto.
  • The state government would provide free transportation to Ayodhya for its citizens.
  • The BJP intends to abolish 'religion-based reservations' and instead assist backward groups and STs.
  • BJP to appoint committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to go into alleged corruption by BRS govt.
  • BJP will implement Uniform Civil Code if voted to power.
  • BJP promises four free LPG cylinders per year to Ujwala beneficiaries in Telangana.
  • In addition to paying Rs 3,100 on paddy, the manifesto guaranteed Rs 2,500 in input support to small and marginal farmers in order for them to purchase seeds and fertilisers.
  • College girl students would receive free laptops and a fixed deposit of Rs 2 lakh will be given to each girl child at the time of birth, which may be redeemed after reaching the age of 21.

The BJP is likely to ramp up its campaign for the November 30 elections, with numerous cabinet ministers expected to appear at rallies in the coming days.

The ruling BRS and Congress have already issued their election manifestos.
