Rajasthan Election Voting: Sons Of Slain Udaipur Tailor Kanhaiya Lal Cast Votes

The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections are underway, with long queues forming outside polling stations on Saturday (November 25). Politicians and representatives are urging citizens to exercise their right to vote. During this time, the sons of the late tailor Kanhaiya Lal Sahu, who was murdered in broad daylight at his tailoring shop in a market in Rajasthan's Udaipur city, also cast their votes.
Kanhaiya Lal Sahu's sons, Yash and Tarun, exercised their voting rights in Udaipur. Both marked their foreheads with tilak and reached the polling booth to cast their votes. Both sons posed for photographs after exercising their franchise, ABP News reported.
It is to be noted that during the election campaigns, the Udaipur tragedy involving Kanhaiya Lal's murder was a prominent topic. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised the Congress Party for its handling of law and order, the Congress, in turn, emphasised its quick action in apprehending the suspects within hours. The Congress party claimed that the accused were apprehended during their government's tenure, but the central investigating agency took over the case. They expressed concern about the lack of information about the investigation's progress after it was turned over to the central agency.
Goss Mohammad and Riaz Attari brutally murdered tailor Kanhaiya Lal with sharp weapons in June of the previous year (2022). The attackers broke into Kanhaiya Lal's shop, mercilessly attacked him, and even recorded and shared a video of the heinous act. Within two days, the police had apprehended the perpetrators. However, suspicions of a terrorist plot prompted federal investigators to take over the case.
Rajasthan is holding a crucial election today to elect members of a new assembly, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aiming to unseat the ruling Congress.

The Congress highlighted the achievements of the Ashok Gehlot government, its schemes, and a promise of seven guarantees if re-elected in the high-stakes campaign. The BJP, on the other hand, chastised the Congress on issues such as domestic violence, appeasement, corruption, and paper leaks.
