Rahul Gandhi's Day On Delhi Metro: Watch Him Discuss Traffic Jam Solutions With Kanhaiya, Interact With Riders

Video shared on social media showed Rahul Gandhi's interaction with fellow passengers during the metro journey.

Lok Sabha Elections: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a ride on the Delhi Metro on Thursday and interacted with the passengers. Gandhi shared pictures from the journey on social media platform X.

“Metro travel with Delhiites. Met fellow passengers and enquired about their well being - I am happy to see that our initiative of building Metro in Delhi has proved so convenient for public transportation,” the Congress leader wrote on X.

Video shared on social media also showed the Wayanad MP’s interaction with fellow passengers during the journey. This came on the last day of campaigning for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.

During his metro ride, the Congress MP was seen discussing the issue of traffic jams in the national capital with party leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who is a Congress candidate from the North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. He asked Kanhaiya Kumar what will he do when he will become an MP.

Responding to the question, Kanhaiya said, "If we look at people's problems, this is entirely the area of the working class; the working class people are very much troubled by traffic jams."

All the seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital are set to go to polls on May 25. The counting of votes will take place on June 4. The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases starting from April 19 to June 1.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Wednesday that metro rail services will commence at 4 am on the day of the Lok Sabha elections in the national capital, scheduled for May 25.

The decision was made to ensure convenient transportation for the staff deployed for election duty, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, Anuj Dayal said, as reported by news agency PTI.

In a post on X, the DMRC said, "On the day of the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi on 25th May, 2024 (Saturday), the Delhi Metro train services on all Lines will start from 04:00 AM so that the staff deployed for election duty can avail the facility." "The metro trains will run with a frequency of 30 minutes on all Lines from 4 am to 6 am. Subsequently, normal metro train services will resume and continue throughout the day," Dayal said.

In a statement, the DMRC said this move is aimed at easing commuting challenges for election duty personnel, enabling them to reach their designated polling stations on time and fulfill their electoral responsibilities efficiently.
