PM Modi Seeks Mother Heeraben's Blessings Ahead Of Second Phase Of Gujarat Elections: Video
PM Narendra Modi visited his mother ahead of the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly polls on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday was seen visiting his mother Heeraben Modi, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, ahead of the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections. PM Modi will cast his vote at the Ranip polling booth in Ahmedabad.
PM Modi spoke to his mother and had tea with her at her home in Gandhinagar.
The Ahmedabad administration is on high alert and has kept emergency services on standby ahead of PM Modi’s ballot. Fire officers will be on standby and an emergency evacuation plan has been prepared for PM Modi.
Aniruddh Gadhvi, Chief Fire Officer, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said: "An alternative route has been planned for traffic movement in Ahmedabad.”
The second and last leg of the Gujarat Assembly elections will be held on Monday, December 5. In the first phase on Thursday, the voter turnout was recorded at a little over 60%.
The second phase will see 93 assembly seats across 14 districts in the north and central Gujarat put up for grabs. These will include Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Gandhinagar.

A total of 2.54 crore voters are eligible for voting in the second round. The Election Commission (EC) will engage over 84,000 polling personnel and 29,000 presiding officers across the 14 districts.
As many as 833 candidates, including 69 women and 285 independents, are set to contest the 93 seats on Monday. The fight is set to be a three-cornered battle as both the Congress and the AAP will try to wrest power from the BJP which has been in power in Gujarat since 1995.
