PM Modi Brushes Off Claims Of NCP, Sena Being Hijacked By BJP, Says 'Balasaheb's Descendants Should Be...'

PM Narendra Modi has dismissed allegations of "hijacking" the NCP and Shiv Sena, asserting that their "true members" support the BJP.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an exclusive interaction with ABP News slammed the allegations of "BJP hijacking the NCP and Shiv Sena". He said the "real Shiv Sena and NCP" were with the BJP. "How can someone hijack a party right under their [Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar] noses? Were they sleeping? Such people should not get even a single vote," PM Modi said.

Speaking to ABP News during his mammoth roadshow in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Wednesday, PM Modi said that people who can't take care of their parties can't take care of the nation. "The ones who don't have the strength to control their own parties, can't manage the nation. These people can only cry," he said. Taking a direct potshot at Uddhav Thackeray and his Shiv Sena, PM Modi said: "Can the family of Balasaheb Thackeray be like this? Wo to mard ke bachche hone chahiye [They should be descendants of men]... [Their attitude should be] 'I dare you to take my party. This means there is something wrong within them. They have family feuds."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said that he was confident of a 400-seat victory. "The BJP and NDA have no challengers. Come June 4, you will see that every child wants BJP to win. I don't have to worry about this." The BJP began its election campaign with the aim of securing more than 400 seats this year. However, the ABP-Cvoter opinion survey conducted before the elections began showed that the NDA may fall just short of the 400-seat mark. Nevertheless, the survey showed a thumping win for the ruling alliance.
