NDA Calls Key Meet Ahead Of Assembly Polls, Amit Shah, Nadda, Sitharaman Among Those Present

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday held a meeting with Union Ministers as the National Democratic Alliance's campaign for the assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand and several bypolls enters the last lap.

Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, C R Patil and Dharmendra Pradhan attended the NDA meeting earlier today.

The NDA allies, including Chirag Paswan of LJP (R), Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM Party, RLD's Jayant Chaudhary and Prataprao Jadhav of Shiv Sena also took part in the meeting at the BJP headquarters.

As per reports, the ministers of NDA allies TDP, JD(U), JD(S) and Apna Dal couldn't participate in the meeting due to their busy schedule.

Though BJP didn't reveal the details of the meeting, sources told PTI that it was aimed at coordination and synergy for the polls scheduled to be held on November 13 and 20.

The saffron party is making an all-out effort to project a united front with its allies for the elections, whose results will be crucial for the party in setting the political narrative.

According to the report, the union minister are expected to highlight the works of their departments, especially in the poll-bound states, to underscore the NDA's development agenda.

While the NDA is locked in a tough contest with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, it is making all-out efforts to topple the INDIA bloc from power in Jharkhand.

Following its surprise but emphatic win in Haryana over the Congress, the BJP is confident of putting behind the Lok Sabha poll upset in crucial states like Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh to get the better of the opposition.

The meeting also comes ahead of the Winter Session of the Parliament as the centre is all set to table crucial legislation, including 'One Nation, One Election' and the Waqf Bill.
