Priyanka Gandhi To Address Rally In Poll-Bound MP's Dhar Today

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi addressed a poll rally in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on Thursday.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address a public rally in Madhya Pradesh's Mohankheda under Dhar district on Thursday. Ahead of her speech, Priyanka would participate in various events including a welcome programme by the trustees of a Jain temple. She would also unveil the statue of tribal icon Tantya Mama on her third trip to the poll-bound state. All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesman Surendra Rajput told said that Priyanka Gandhi and MP Congress president Kamal Nath will address the gathering at Mohankheda after visiting the Jain shrine there.

This would be Priyanka's third visit to the poll bound state after she visited Jabalpur and Gwalior where she addressed public rallies. Ahead of her visit, Rajput saidthe ruling BJP is worried after seeing huge gatherings and public support during her rallies.

Madhya Pradesh is due to undergo assembly polls this year along with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

Debutant Aam Aadmi Party on Monday released its second list of 29 candidates following the announcement of an initial roster of 10 candidates in September. The party is making a notable push to challenge the incumbent BJP's stronghold in the state. In addition to its Madhya Pradesh lineup, AAP has also revealed its second list of candidates for the poll-bound Chhattisgarh state.

Last month, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal outlined a series of "guarantees" for the electorate.

In the run-up to the polls, the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded three Union ministers and two Lok Sabha MPs. Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Pralhad Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste have been given a ticket from Morena, Narsingpur, and Niwas assembly constituencies while Riti Pathak and Ganesh Singh have been given a ticket to fight the polls from Sidhi and Satna constituencies respectively.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav said that SP and Congress should fight the MP polls together to BJP.

He also took a swipe at the BJP and said that the saffron party is “scared” and many of its leaders are fighting the elections to become the Chief Minister.
