Mayawati takes on BJP for "Breaching Model Code of Conduct by PM's address to nation"

It is good that Election Comission created a committee to probe PM Modi’s speech, but the main question is How can PM Modi address something to the nation without consent of the EC, when there was no emergency in the country. This is a misuse of political weapon for political gain”.

New Delhi: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sudden announcement on a satellite launch by DRDO, Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati took a jibe on Bharatiya Janta Party and slammed them for “breaching” Model Code of Conduct. Speaking on the same, Mayawati took to her Twitter on Thursday, and said “Past experiences prove that BJP leaders have been successful and have been known for breaching Model Code of Conduct; and yesterday again without prior permission Prime Minister addressed the nation; even though there was no emergency. The entire nation was anxious and breathless over the same. I request the commission to take action”. Speaking further on the same, Mayawati said “It is good that Election Comission created a committee to probe PM Modi’s speech, but the main question is How can PM Modi address something to the nation without consent of the EC, when there was no emergency in the country. This is a misuse of political weapon for political gain”. PM Modi on Wednesday took to his twitter and informed the countrymen about a big announcement that he is going to make, leaving the people curious and anxious. Later through a video announcement, PM revealed the DRDO satellite launch; which attracted a lot of reactions from opposition as they alleged breach of Model Code of Conduct. The Opposition on Wednesday also raised questions over PM Modi’s sudden address to nation over DRDO’s satellite launch.
