Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: PM Modi To Kick-Start BJP's Campaign On June 27
PM Modi will address public rallies in the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.
Ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on June 27, 2023. He will also address public rallies in the poll-bound state. Earlier this month, the faction-ridden BJP in Madhya Pradesh promised to transfer Rs 1,000 to the accounts of women under the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’.
According to the media reports, 1.25 crore women's registrations have been proven to be authentic, and the state is validating the accounts of some additional beneficiaries. Officials have been ordered to gather feedback on the scheme, which would cost the state government Rs 12,500 crore each year.
In addition, CM Shivraj Chouhan will also transfer Rs 2,000 into the bank accounts of 80 lakh farmers in the state as a biannual instalment for the CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana, which began last year. This is in addition to the three Rs 2,000 payments provided to farmers each year by the Centre under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Interestingly, PM Modi had referred to the practise of political parties promising free goods or services in advance of polls as "revdi culture." Earlier during the 'griha pravesh' event for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) programme beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district in October 2022, PM Modi had stated that a big segment of society has committed to rid the country of the'revdi' (freebies) mentality.
“Thousands of taxpayers write to me and I am happy that a major section of the country is gearing up to free the country of the ‘revdi’ culture,” PM Modi had said.
Priyanka Gandhi Kick-Starts Cong Campaign In MP
Earlier on Monday, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kicked off the Congress party's campaign and Sankalp 2023 for the year-end Madhya Pradesh Assembly election from Jabalpur after praying at the banks of the Narmada river. Citing alleged corruption in Vyapam and ration distribution, she commented that the list of BJP's "scams" was longer than the number of insults Prime Minister Narendra Modi recounted, in a reference to his remark in the recent Karnataka election campaign.
Addressing a gathering at Shaheed Samarak in Jabalpur, she said: "Announcements are made during elections and big promises are made, but after winning polls, they (BJP) don't try to fulfill the promises." She further remarked that the people of Madhya Pradesh are being "used" and "exploited" for past 18 years.
“In their (BJP) 220 months of rule (in Madhya Pradesh), they have done 225 scams which averages to about a scam a month,” Priyanka alleged.
