Lok Sabha Polls: No Action Taken On Complaints Against PM Modi, Amit Shah By EC, Says Congress

Lok Sabha Polls: The Congress said that the party made 117 complaints to the EC against various leaders of the BJP, including PM Modi, Amit Shah, and Yogi Adityanath, but no action has been taken.

Lok Sabha Polls 2024: The Congress said on Friday that the grand old party made 117 complaints to the Election Commission in 77 days about various violations, including the code of conduct, but on many such complaints, no action has been taken. This comes a day ahead of the final phase of voting in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress said that out of 117 complaints, 14 were made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 8 were against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and 3 complaints were against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking at a press conference, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, "We made 117 complaints to the Election Commission in 77 days. These complaints were about various violations, including the code of conduct. Of these, 14 complaints were made against Narendra Modi, 8 complaints against CM Yogi, and 3 complaints against Home Minister Amit Shah. But there are many such complaints on which no action has been taken.

The Congress slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party over its '400 paar' slogan, saying that after they gave this slogan, their intentions became clear that they wanted to change the Constitution. Congress leader Pawan Khera said that for the grand old party, saving the constitution is more important than elections.

"When BJP gave the slogan of 'crossing 400', then their intentions became clear before the country. Many BJP leaders said that they would change the Constitution, but Congress leaders launched a campaign to save the Constitution. More important for us than elections is to save the Constitution and democracy," Pawan Khera said at the press conference.
