As Kejriwal's Interim Bail Relief Nears End, Delhi CM Shares Concern Over 'More Torture' In Tihar Jail: VIDEO

As Arvind Kejriwal's interim bail nears end, he said that he has no idea for how long this time he will be kept inside the jail.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that he is set to go back to Tihar jail the day after tomorrow, and he has no idea for how long this time he will be kept inside the jail. Speaking at a press conference, the Delhi CM said that his spirits are high and he is proud that he is going to jail to save the country from dictatorship. This comes as the Delhi CM's interim bail relief nears its end.

The Supreme Court on May 10 granted interim bail to the Delhi CM in the Delhi Liquor Policy case to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The top court allowed interim release for Kejriwal for campaigning but said that he must surrender on June 2.

The Aam Aadmi Party chief also said that once he goes back inside the jail, there is a possibility that he will be tortured more this time. He added that he would not bow down.

In a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government, Kejriwal claimed that there were attempts made to break him and silence him in many ways, but they did not succeed. He further said that when he went to jail, his weight was 70 kg, today it is 64 kg, and he has not been able to gain weight even after coming out of jail.

"The Supreme Court had given me 21 days to campaign for the elections. The day after tomorrow I will go back to Tihar Jail. I don't know how long these people will keep me in jail this time. But my spirits are high. I am proud that I am going to jail to save the country from dictatorship. They tried to break me in many ways, tried to silence me, but they did not succeed. When I was in jail, they tortured me in many ways. They stopped my medicines... I don't know what these people wanted. Why did they do this? When I went to jail, my weight was 70 kg, today it is 64 kg. Even after being released from jail, I am not gaining weight. Doctors are saying that this can also be a sign of some serious disease in the body. Many tests need to be done," Kejriwal said.

While speaking at the press conference, Kejriwal also expressed concern for his old parents and urged the people to pray for their well-being, as they are very old.

"I will leave my house at around 3 pm to surrender. It is possible that this time they may torture me more, but I will not bow down... Wherever I live, inside or outside. I will not let the work of Delhi stop. Your free electricity, mohalla clinics, hospitals, free medicines, treatment, 24-hour electricity and many other things will continue and after returning I will also start giving Rs 1000 every month to every mother and sister. Today I want to ask something from you for my family. My parents are very old. My mother is very ill. I worry a lot about her in jail. Take care of my parents after me, pray for them," he further stated.

They Stopped My Medication, Sugar Levels Reached 300: Kejriwal

The Delhi CM attacked the Central government, saying that he is a serious diabetes patient and his medication was stopped inside the jail, which resulted in the rise of his sugar levels to 300.

"I am a patient of serious diabetes for the last 20 years. I am given four injections everyday for the last 10 years but when I was in jail, they stopped my medication. My sugar levels reached around 300. Kidney and liver get affected if your sugar level remains so high for such long time. I don't know what they wanted. I lost 6 kgs while in jail. Doctor is suggesting that this can be a sign of some serious disease, many tests are needed to be done. Ketone level in my urine has also increased," Kejriwal said.
