Previous Congress Govt Deliberately Deprived Development Of Border Districts: PM Modi's Salvo In Barmer

PM Modi addressed a poll rally in Rajasthan's Barmer on Friday ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a poll rally in Rajasthan's Barmer firing salvo at the Congress party saying the its previous dispensations deliberately deprived the border districts of development.

“This public gathering supports the fact that the public of Barmer has taken the resolution to give their blessings to the BJP. Your every vote in this election would strengthen the foundation of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Today, the entire country is saying only one thing -’ 4 June, 400 paar -Fir ek Baar, Modi sarkaar,” he said.

Dubbing the grand old party as "anti-development", Modi said, "border districts were deliberately deprived of development by former Congress governments."

Further attacking the party, Modi said, "There is a need to be cautious of the lies of Congress and INDIA alliance who insult Baba Saheb and the Constitution."

"While Modi is busy making India a powerful nation, people of INDI alliance are trying to make India weak," he said, adding "Congress stands with every force which is anti-national".

Referring to the demand by Congress for a caste-based census, Modi said that the Congress that discriminated against SCs, STs and OBCs for decades, is playing an old record these days.

"It has become a fashion for all the parties of INDI alliance to lie in the name of Constitution whenever elections come," he said.

"The Congress, which made Baba Saheb lose the elections while he was alive, did not allow him to get Bharat Ratna, which tried to destroy the Constitution by imposing Emergency in the country is now taking the cover of lies in the name of Constitution to abuse Modi," he added.
