AAP Alleges 'Deliberate' Attempt By LG To Slow Down Voting, VK Saxena Responds

Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi alleged that LG VK Saxena has ordered the police to slow down voting in areas where there are a large number of I.N.D.I.A bloc voters.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Saturday slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over Aam Aadmi Party's claim that the LG has ordered police to "slower down" voting in areas where I.N.D.I.A bloc could get majority votes. On Friday, Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi took to social media platform X, alleging that the LG has ordered Delhi Police to slow down the voting in those areas where there are a large number of I.N.D.I.A bloc voters.

"Information has been received that today @LtGovDelhi has ordered Delhi Police to slow down the voting in those areas where there are a large number of I.N.D.I.A bloc voters so that people face difficulty in casting their votes," she said.

"Any such attempt by the administration to make the BJP win is illegal, undemocratic and unconstitutional. And I hope the Election Commission will take cognizance of this, and stop any such attempt," she added.

Reacting to the allegation, Kejriwal called it "shocking" and demanded that the Election Commission ensure smooth voting in Delhi.

Slamming the Delhi CM, Saxena said that Kejriwal has made it a habit to lament in every situation.

"I have taken a stern view of this unwarranted & false statement on the eve of election against a constitutional authority by a Minister, endorsed by you," he said.

The national capital is undergoing voting for all the seven Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls with Congress and Aam Aadmi Party joining forces against the Bharartiya Janata Party.
