Modi Will Become PM For 3rd Time With 300 Seats, Congress Won't Be Able To...: Amit Shah

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: "Congress won't be able to even secure its present tally in Lok Sabha in 2024," Shah said.

Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time and the BJP will win more than 300 seats across the country in 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, while addressing a gathering in Assam on Thursday, news agency PTI reported.

"Congress won't be able to even secure its present tally in Lok Sabha in 2024," Shah further said.

On Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress and certain other opposition parties for boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament building, asserting that the decision was an act of petty political maneuvering. "Congress doing politics by boycotting inauguration of new Parliament building," he stated.

"The attitude of Congress party is negative. Congress and its partners are giving an example of cheap politics and resorting to boycott," the minister was quoted by ANI in its report.

Amit Shah criticized Congress and opposition parties, alleging that they are using the President's should launch as a pretext to not attend the inauguration of the new Parliament building. He gave several instances of states governed by opposition parties, where the Governor was not included in the ceremonies of ground-breaking relating to the assemblies.

The Chhattisgarh Governor was reportedly excluded from the bhoomi pujan for the new state assembly, while Sonia and Rahul Gandhi from the Congress party were in attendance. Amit Shah referred to comparable situations during the rule of Hemant Soren in Jharkhand, Tarun Gogoi's leadership of the Congress government in Assam, and the prior Congress regime in Manipur. He made a reference to Tamil Nadu as well.

"The people of the country gave a two-thirds mandate and made Modiji PM. The people give their verdict, it is not dependent on the wishes of Congress. This is democracy. The people gave mandate for PM Modi but Congress and its royal family is not prepared to accept the verdict for nine years," Amit Shah said.
