Kejriwal Has Assets Worth Rs 1.73 Crore, Annual Income Rs 7.2 Lakh In 2024, Election Affidavit Shows
The election affidavit of Arvind Kejriwal showed that his salary increased from Rs 1.67 lakh in 2022-23 to Rs 7.2 lakh in 2023-2024. However, in 2020, the income of the ex-CM touched Rs 44.90 lakh.
Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has assets worth Rs 1.73 crore, while his annual income last year was Rs 7.2 lakh, the election affidavit submitted before the Election Commission showed.
While Kejriwal has immovable assets worth Rs 1.70 crore, his movable assets are worth Rs 3.46 lakh, including cash in hand and deposits in bank accounts.
The election affidavit of the former Delhi Chief Minister also showed that his salary increased from Rs 1.67 lakh in 2022-23 to Rs 7.2 lakh in 2023-2024, the election affidavit accessed by ABP News showed. However, in 2020, the income of the AAP leader touched Rs 44.90 lakh.
Arvind Kejriwal is contesting the Delhi Elections from New Delhi assembly seat against BJP leader Parvesh Verma and Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit.
Kejriwal filed his nomination for the New Delhi seat and urged people to vote based on work and not abuses. Before filing his nomination papers, Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal, offered prayers at Hanuman and Valmiki temples.
Meanwhile, the election affidavit also revealed that Sunita Kejriwal, wife of the AAP leader, has twice the annual income of Arvind Kejriwal.
While Kejriwal declared the annual income at Rs 7.21 lakh, Sunita has an annual income of Rs 14.10 lakh. While Kejriwal has listed his profession as MLA/politician, his wife Sunita has declared her profession as a retired government servant and housewife. While the nature of income for Kejriwal is his MLA salary, his wife gets pension for being a retired government official.
While Kejriwal has Rs 50,000 cash in hand, he has not invested in Fixed Deposits, Shares, Mutual Funds or Insurance policies. The former Chief Minister also doesn't own an agricultural or commercial property. He has a flat in Ghaziabad, which is worth Rs 1.7 crore in current market value. He also declared that he has not been convicted for any criminal offence.
Kejriwal has held the New Delhi seat since 2013. Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is scheduled to be held on February 5. The counting of votes will be taken up on February 8.
