WATCH: Locals Shower Flowers On BSF Personnel Deployed On Election Duty In Karnataka's Kolar

Locals of Karnataka's Kolar gave a heartwarming welcome to BSF personnel, deployed on Election duty there, while showing flower petals on them.

Citizens of Karnataka's Kolar on Wednesday gave a heartwarming welcome to BSF (Border Security Force) personnel deployed on Election duty. The locals showered flower petals on the personnel while they stood smiling.

In the one-minute video shared by ANI on Twitter, locals can be seen standing on their terraces and showering flower petals on the BSF personnel that have been deployed in Kolar for election duty.

In the video, a little girl was then seen giving flower petals to the personnel individually while they blessed her.

Ahead of an intense political battle in Karnataka next month, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) will get a complete majority in the upcoming elections. Talking to reporters, he said that workers and leaders of the party are confident that BJP will emerge victorious in the polls.

Meanwhile, the Congress Central Election Committee meeting regarding the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections took place on Tuesday at the AICC office in Delhi. The party had announced candidates on 124 seats earlier. In the meeting, a discussion was held regarding the rest of the seats.

Before the meeting Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge spoke to media persons about the meeting and said that the committee will unanimously decide and choose candidates who can win or at least give competition to other parties.

Karnataka, which has 224 seats in the Assembly currently has 119 MLAs of the ruling BJP, while Congress has 75 and its ally JD(S) has 28 seats. The polling would take place in a single phase on May 10, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said on Wednesday.

The counting of votes will be done on May 13, the CEC said in a press conference.
