Rahul Gandhi Promised Minority Quota By Reducing SC, ST, OBC Reservations: Amit Shah In Jharkhand
Jharkhand Election 2024: Amit Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the Constitution and plotting to introduce reservations for minorities at the expense of existing quotas for marginalised communities.
Jharkhand Election 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during a series of rallies in Jharkhand, launched a fierce attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of disrespecting the Constitution and planning to introduce reservations for minorities at the expense of existing quotas for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Speaking at a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Palamu on Saturday, Shah criticised Rahul for allegedly waving a “fake copy of the Constitution.” According to news agency PTI, Shah alleged, “Rahul Gandhi shows a copy of the Constitution. He was exposed two days back. Someone got a copy of the Constitution he has shown. The Constitution of India was written on the cover of that copy which was void of any content... Don’t make a mockery of the Constitution. It is a question of faith and trust. By waving a fake copy of the Constitution, you have insulted B R Ambedkar and the Constituent Assembly. The Congress party has made the Constitution a mockery.”
He emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to observe November 26 as Constitution Day to uphold its sanctity. Shah further accused the Congress of conspiring to snatch reservations meant for OBCs, tribals, and Dalits. He stated, “The Congress is against OBC quota, it promised 10 per cent reservation to minorities when a delegation of Ulemas met Congress leaders in Maharashtra. Under PM Modi's leadership, the BJP will never allow religion-based reservations.”

Bangladeshi Infiltrators Grabbing Jobs, Marrying Daughters Of Jharkhand: Amit Shah In Hazaribag
Targeting the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government, Shah described it as the "most corrupt government in the country." He accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of prioritising corruption and facilitating infiltration, stating, “The CM says infiltration is the BJP’s political agenda. I say it is CM’s bank... corrupt leaders will be hanged upside down.” Shah claimed that the JMM-led administration had allowed Maoists to flourish but credited PM Modi for uprooting Maoist activities over the past decade.
Additionally, Shah spoke at a rally in Hazaribag, where he blamed the JMM-led government for various scams, including those involving MGNREGA, land, mining, and liquor. He said, “They devoured free ration sent by PM Modi.” Accusing Bangladeshi infiltrators of taking jobs and disrupting local communities, he alleged, “Bangladeshi infiltrators are grabbing jobs, marrying daughters of Jharkhand.”
Highlighting development promises, Shah announced plans to construct an airport in Hazaribag, assuring that the ‘bhoomi pujan’ would take place within 90 days. He likened the BJP to a “high tension line to transmit prosperity,” while criticising the JMM-led coalition as a “burnt transformer.” Shah also expressed confidence in India's economic progress, asserting, “India will become the world's third-largest economy by December 2027 under PM Modi's leadership.”
The rallies come ahead of the Jharkhand assembly elections, set to be held on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23.
