Haryana Election: Arvind Kejriwal Leads Roadshow, Asserts 'Govt Won't Be Formed Without AAP's Support'

AAP convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal joined the party's campaigning in Haryana ahead of the Assembly elections. He held a roadshow in Jagadhri constituency.

Haryana Assembly elections 2024: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday held a roadshow in Haryana's Jagadhri constituency in Yamunanagar district as he joined the campaigning ahead of the Assembly elections in the state. Campaigning for Adarsh Pal, who was fielded by AAP from Jagadhri after he quit the Congress earlier this month. AAP's Haryana unit chief Sushil Gupta accompanied Kejriwal during the road show.

During the roadshow Kejriwal stressed that Adarsh Pal supported the people of Haryana and stood by them in times of joy and sorrow. "On the other hand, there is the Education Minister, who has ruined the entire state of Haryana," he said. He further criticised BJP leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of Haryana, Kanwar Pal, who he said had not done anything for Jagadhri apart from spreading addiction and unemployment.

The former Delhi chief minister reached Jagadhri in the afternoon, following which he began his roadshow around 3:30 PM amid crowds gathered on either sides of the roads. He was spotted waving at the crowds from the sunroof of his vehicle.

He urged people to vote for AAP and give the party a chance to establish an education system in Haryana similar to the one in Delhi. Kejriwal also claimed that government in Haryana would not be formed without AAP's support.

"Haryana is asking for a change. The government will not form in Haryana without AAP's support. I have calculated how many seats AAP is going to win and I know that the government will not be formed without AAP's support," he said.

Kejriwal also hit out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana, claiming that the party had only given "corruption, unemployment, and inflation" to the people of the state. "What did BJP give you?" he asked.

"Whichever government will be formed in Haryana, it will not be formed without AAP's support. AAP is getting this many seats that the government will not be formed without its support," he stressed.

I am here at Khera Mandir... I have been told that if I visit any Mandir, then it would be a violation of MCC. So, I will come here again to offer prayers," he added.

The AAP is contesting the Haryana Assembly elections on its own after its pre-poll alliance talks with the Congress over a seat-sharing agreement failed. Elections to the 90-member Haryana assembly will be held on October 5 and counting of votes will be undertaken on October 8.
