Gujarat Polls: Focused On Winning All 13 Seats AIMIM Is Contesting In Elections, Says Owaisi
He expressed confidence in winning all the seats his party is contesting due to the "positive response" AIMIM received from the people during campaigning for the assembly elections.
All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said his party is focused on winning the 13 seats that they are contesting in the Gujarat Assembly elections, and is not concerned about what is happening on other seats in the state. He expressed confidence in winning all the constituencies his party is contesting due to the "positive response" AIMM received from the people during campaigning for the assembly elections.
"We are fighting for 13 seats in Vidhan Sabha and our focus is on winning those seats and not bothered about what’s happening in other areas. People gave a very positive response during the campaigning so we hope to win those seats," said Asaduddin Owaisi, as reported by news agency ANI.

On being asked about facing a stiff competition from the Congress party on the seats that AIMIM is contesting, Owaisi said "Congress poll candidates are telling me that their own leader has run away and left them, so what are they supposed to do," reported ANI.
In the first phase voting of the Gujarat Assembly election on Thursday, December 1, the overall voter turnout was recorded at 63.14 per cent.
The voting was held in 89 constituencies spread across 19 Kutch, Saurashtra and South Gujarat districts.
According to the data from the Election Commission of India, Narmada recorded the highest voter turnout at 78.24 per cent and Botad recorded the lowest at 57.58 per cent.
The second phase of polling will be held on December 5 and results will be declared on December 8 along with that of the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
