Elections Results 2019: Harbhajan Singh extends 'congratulations' to Gautam Gambhir on victory

Gautam Gambhir was quick to respond to Harbhajan's congratulatory message and even mentioned about his former teammate's brilliant form in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).

New Delhi: After announcing his retirement from all form of cricket in December 2018, former opener Gautam Gambhir began a new innings on India political turf. The ex-Indian cricketer officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Arun Jaitley welcomed Gambhir, terming it a 'significant induction'. In addition to tweets, videos on cricket, road-shows and promoting campaigns for 2019 General elections, BJP's candidate for East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir officially joined the Chowkidar Twitter club. According to the ongoing trend, Bharatiya Janata Party’s East Delhi constituency candidate, Gambhir is way ahead of his rival Atishi Marlena (Aam Aadmi Party) with 3,10,086 votes and counting and is all set to win. India veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh was one of the first cricketers to congratulate Gambhir on his victory. "Congratulations my brother for your win @GautamGambhir. More power to you @BJP4India," Harbhajan wrote on Twitter. Gambhir was quick to respond to Harbhajan's congratulatory message and even mentioned about his former teammate's brilliant form in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).
