Dhruv Rathee Shares TDP Chief's Post Criticising PM Modi's Govt In 2019, Party Spokesperson Takes Objection
In 2019, Naidu was vocal in his criticism of the BJP government, accusing it of systematically dismantling India's prestigious institutions.
A recent tweet by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, who boasts 2.5 million followers on the platform X (formerly Twitter), has stirred controversy within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Rathee quoted a tweet from TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu from 2019, where Naidu condemned the then BJP government for allegedly undermining India's prestigious institutions, including the CBI and RBI. Rathee simply commented "Agreed," aligning himself with Naidu's past criticism.
However, this did not sit well with the TDP, especially given the party's current alliance with the BJP. In a strong rebuke, TDP Spokesperson Deepak Reddy Gunapati expressed his disapproval. He tweeted, "As a Spokesperson of TDP, I take strong objection to such a post. CBN ji is a legendary leader and is forward-thinking. His interests are in the people of AP and Bharat. Such cheap posts must be avoided by the INDI ecosystem. Shame on you."

Chandrababu Naidu's Criticism Of BJP In 2019
In 2019, Naidu was vocal in his criticism of the BJP government, accusing it of systematically dismantling India's prestigious institutions.
Coming down heavily against the then BJP government, Chandrababu Naidu said, "Modi has systematically destroyed prestigious institutions of India. In BJP govt’s rule, institutional autonomy and democracy have been under attack. From CBI to RBI, even a constitutional authority like the Election Commission was not spared."
He also accused the Election Commission of India of failing to conduct the AP elections fairly in 2019. He said, "EC has failed to execute its primary duty of conducting a fair elections in AP. Malfunctioning EVMs and numerous other issues contaminated the election process. It is the responsibility of EC to take necessary measures and restore the confidence of voters."
Andhra Pradesh Political Dynamics
The political landscape has shifted since Naidu's 2019 criticisms. After a hiatus, TDP entered into an alliance with BJP ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
In the current scenario, the BJP, after failing to secure a majority on its own, now finds itself needing the support of allies to form a government. In this context, the TDP has emerged as a crucial player, with both the NDA and the I.N.D.I.A bloc seeking its support.
When questioned about the TDP's alliance with the NDA, Naidu responded, "How can we contest elections if we are not a part of NDA? We fought this collectively. Why you got the doubt, I don't know."
