Delhi Elections: FIR Filed After Govt Vehicle Present At Delhi CM Atishi's Roadshow In Kalkaji
Delhi elections will be held on February 5 and the votes will be counted on February 8.
Delhi Election News: An FIR has been filed against a PWD engineer after a Delhi government vehicle was present in CM Atishi's roadshow in Kalkaji on Monday. Atishi filed her nomination from the Kalkaji seat today.
Atishi questioned the Election Commission and said she hoped that the commitment of a free and fair election given by EC will be implemented on the ground.
"The whole country saw how Parvesh Verma was distributing Rs 1100...Later, Parvesh Verma himself tweeted that he was holding a health camp and distribution specs. After that, he distributed bedsheets with his name on them. But the Election Commission doesn't see any MCC violation in this. The question arises - who is the Police with? Is there pressure on EC officials? We hope the commitment of a free and fair election given by EC will be implemented on the ground," Atishi said.

Atishi, who was scheduled to file her nomination for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Monday, did not proceed with the filing. Instead, she accompanied AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to the Election Commission of India to lodge a complaint.
Atishi offered prayers at the Kalkaji Temple and Giri Nagar Gurdwara. Speaking to the media, she said, "Today I am going to file my nomination, and before filing my nomination, I have come to Kalkaji temple to seek blessings of Kalkaji Mai. May the blessings of Kalkaji Mai remain on AAP and the people of Kalkaji, Delhi."
"The people of Kalkaji have given me a lot of love... I am not contesting the election of Kalkaji but the people of Kalkaji are contesting it," she remarked.
