UP Man Accused Of Attempted Rape & Murder Of Woman Killed In Police Encounter
A man accused of attempting to rape and murder a woman with his broth in Lucknow was killed in a police encounter.

A man who was accused of attempting to rape a woman before murdering her in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh was killed in an encounter.
According to a PTI, Ajay Dwivedi and his brother Dinesh, allegedly tried to rape a woman and then strangled her to death in the Malihabad area of the city on March 18.
On Friday morning, Dinesh, who works as a tempo driver was arrested while Ajay was absconding until he was killed in an encounter later in the evening.
Woman Was Unaware Of The Roads In The City
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Lucknow West) Vishwajit Shrivastava while speaking to PTI, said that the woman had arrived in Lucknow from Varanasi around 1:30 am on March 18. She had called her brother from Alambagh, she had called her to inform him about her whereabouts and that she would reach his home which is located in the Chinhat area. She was in a three-wheeler with the two brothers, Dinesh and Ajay.
Since the woman was not sure about the roads in Lucknow, the duo took her towards Malihabad in the wrong direction where they tried to force themselves on her in a mango orchard. When she resisted, the duo strangled her to death, left her body in the orchard and fled the scene.
When the woman didn't reach home, her brother tried to call her but her phone was switched off. He then alerted UP 112 and eventually a probe was launched.

Search For The Suspects
Dinesh, a resident of the Dubagga area, was apprehended in the morning with the help of electronic surveillance as multiple police teams worked on the case. Later in the evening, Ajay was tracked down in Mahmood Nagar, as per PTI.
"He tried to escape and opened fire on the police team, promoting a retaliation in which he suffered injuries and was held. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead by doctors," the DCP told reporters.
