Delhi Election Early Result Trends: How Are AAP Leaders Out On Bail Performing?

AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, who is out on bail in a case related to the Delhi excise policy case, was trailing behind BJP's Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi Assembly seat.

Delhi Election Results: The counting of votes for all the 70 seats in Delhi is underway to decide whether the AAP comes to power for a fourth term or the BJP forms a government in the national capital after more than 26 years. The Congress is also looking for some gains after drawing a blank in the last two elections.

AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, who is out on bail in a case related to the Delhi excise policy case, was trailing behind BJP's Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi Assembly seat, as per early trends. Kejriwal is contesting the seat for the fourth consecutive time.

Other senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain were leading in the Jangpura and Shakur Basti seats respectively. Sisodia is on bail in the Delhi excise policy case, while Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in May 2022 in a 2017 money laundering case. Jain was eventually released in October last year after the Enforcement Directorate failed to frame charges against him. He spent over two years in jail without bail (except for a 10-month medical bail) or trial.

The Shakur Basti constituency, located in northern Delhi was one of the key battlegrounds in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections

Amanatullah Khan, who was granted bail in the Delhi Waqf Board case, was also leading from Okhla seat.
