'Jugalbandi' Between BJP & Congress: Kejriwal After Rahul Gandhi's Rally In Seelampur
Rahul Gandhi also drew comparisons between the state of the national capital under Congress's Sheila Dikshit and Kejriwal.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated on Tuesday that this election is likely to reveal a ‘jugalbandi’ between the BJP and Congress.
During a rally in Seelampur, on Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal. He accused the two one making false promises and said that there was no difference between the two leaders and they did not want the backward, Dalits, tribals and minorities to get their due.
The Congress leader later posted on X, "Just like Modi Ji makes false promises and propaganda one after the other, Kejriwal Ji also has the same strategy - there is no difference!"
Reacting to this, Kejriwal took to X, and wrote, "Today Rahul Gandhi came to Delhi. He abused me a lot. But I will not comment on his statements. His fight is to save Congress, my fight is to save the country."
Amit Malviya, who is in charge of BJP's National Information & Technology Department, quipped that Kejriwal should now worry about the constituency from where he is fighting the election.
"Worry about the country later, save your New Delhi seat now," Malviya wrote on X.
Using the response as an example, Kejriwal wrote in Hindi, "...I said just one line about Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from the BJP. See how much the BJP is feeling. Perhaps this Delhi election will expose the jugalbandi (partnership) going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years…"

With Rahul Gandhi's rally, the Congress has launched its campaign aggressively in the national capital. The AAP and Congress, which had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as allies, have parted ways for the Delhi Assembly polls. Their partnership in the Lok Sabha elections ended in failure, with the BJP securing all seven seats.

Rahul Gandhi also drew comparisons between the state of the national capital under Congress's Sheila Dikshit and Kejriwal.
"Do you remember that Delhi when Sheila Dikshit was the chief minister of the national capital? ... Arvind Kejriwal had said he will clean Delhi, make it corruption-free. There is so much pollution in Delhi... Did Arvind Kejriwal make Delhi corruption-free? Arvind Kejriwal campaigns in the same way as PM Modi does and makes false promises to the people," he said, according to The Times Of India.
This time around, AAP is striving for a third consecutive term in the national capital, while the BJP is determined to make a strong comeback this time. The Congress, which governed the national capital until 2013, has failed to secure any seats in the last two Assembly elections.
