BJP Appoints Narendra Singh Tomar As Convenor Of Its Madhya Pradesh Poll Management Panel

BJP has appointed Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar as the convenor of its Madhya Pradesh Election management panel.

BJP appoints Narendra Singh Tomar as the convenor of the State Election Management Committee (SEMC) for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. As per BJP's letter, this appointment comes into immediate effect, reported news agency ANI.

Tomar is a seasoned organisation leader who has held various positions in the party including the post of Madhya Pradesh's party president. As per the news agency PTI, he is considered to be a low-key profile leader who enjoys cordial relations with various regional satraps. He hails from the Gwalior-Chambal region where the saffron party is working overtime to improve its presence and strength after being bested by the Congress in the 2018 assembly polls.

Union minister Bhupender Yadav was recently made the BJP’s poll in-charge for Madhya Pradesh. The BJP-ruled state is likely to witness its State Assembly Elections later this year along with other states such as Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram, reported PTI.

Recently, the Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the headlines for washing the feet of a tribal labourer Dashmat Rawat.

Days after a man urinated on the tribal labourer Dashmat Rawat, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan met him and washed his feet at CM House in Bhopal. In a viral video from the state's Sidhi, accused Pravesh Shukla was seen urinating on Rawat. "...I was pained to see that video. I apologise to you. People are like a God to me," Chouhan tells Rawat, as quoted by the news agency ANI. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited Smart City Park in Bhopal along with victim Dashmat Rawat and planted saplings.

Speaking on the Sidhi viral video, Chohan said that serving the people is equal to worshipping God. He also said that he was pained by the inhuman incident. "For me, the poor is God and people are like God to me. Serving the people is equal to worshipping God. We believe that God resides in every human being. I was pained by the inhuman incident that happened with Dashmat Rawat...Respect and security is important for the poor...," said Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as quoted by ANI.

The police arrested Pravesh Shukla. He was slapped with the National Security Act after Shivraj Singh Chouhan took note of the matter.
