Months of campaigning, promises, and jibes concluded on Thursday after polling for the Telangana assembly ended on Nov 30 closing the fate of candidates. Exit polls have predicted a tough fight between the BJP and Congress in three states -- Rajasthan, Madya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh with Rajasthan being predicted to be a big loss for the Congress. With only one day remaining for the D-Day, political parties are ready with members tasked to remain present at counting centres.
Counting of votes for four states will begin on Sunday (Dec 3) at 8 am. The Election Commission has changed the date of counting for Mizoram from Dec 3 to Dec 4.
Meanwhile, the ABP-CVoter Exit poll shows the Congress faces a tough fight against the BJP in Chhattisgarh with the ruling party projected to secure a majority mark with 41 to 53 seats, a vote percentage of 43 per cent.
MNF is projected to cross the majority mark in Mizoram of 20 in terms of the range of seats, ZPM is likely to emerge as the principle Opposition while the Congress is trailing behind at the third spot.
Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will get anywhere between 94 to 114 seats and garner a vote share of 44.7 per cent. The Congress is predicted to get 71 to 91 seats, but see a rise in vote share to 41.1 per cent from 39.3 per cent it received in the 2018 polls.
In Madhya Pradesh, Congress is once again set to win polls and bag anywhere between 113 to 137 seats. The grand old party, which fought the polls under the leadership of former CM Kamal Nath, is likely to garner a vote share of 44.1 per cent. On the other hand, BJP, which aiming for a fourth consecutive term in power, has been predicted to win 88-112 seats, with a 40.7 per cent vote share.
A change may also be seen in Telangana as Congress is predicted to dislodge Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Congress is likely to bag 49-65 seats in the 119-member Assembly.
